Help Us Make VCC 2022 Happen!

The Covid pandemic has taken a tremendous toll on our dance community.  However, with increased access to vaccinations and increased measures for virus prevention, many dance schools have been steadily reopening.  The next step in order to revive our dance community, is to have an event on the horizon for people to look forward to and work towards.

We are thrilled to announce that plans are in the works for VCC 2022!  Our tentative date is for February 4&5 at the Hellenic Centre.  We are doing everything possible to provide a fun and safe event for our dance community.  However, we know that we will need to continue to change and adapt to our ever-changing reality.

During these very uncertain times, we need your support.  We will be calling on all participants to submit registration and payment for tickets and fees by November 15th to ensure that we can go ahead with the competition.  We know that this is an earlier deadline than usual, but we need to ensure that we have the necessary funds to pay the vendors and the often non-refundable deposits.

This has been an unprecedented year for all of us, with the dance community suffering a major downturn.  As such, we will only decide after November 15th if we have achieved the minimum amount of participants and sponsorship necessary to run the competition.  If you or anyone you know are willing to be a donor and provide sponsorship to the event, let us know.

Please spread the word to all of your students, friends and colleagues and have them send in their registration forms by November 15th.  All forms have been uploaded to our website, and can be sent with payment to registration@vancouverchallengecup.com.  All entries will be processed directly onto O2CM by Michel.

Refund Policy:  After November 15th, if we determine that the VCC is unable to run due to insufficient entries and support, we will provide refunds to all those who have registered.  However, if after November 15th, we commit to running VCC and there is a last minute cancellation as ordered by the health authorities, we will NOT provide refunds, but will credit everyone for our next event.  (Please note that if we do go ahead and run VCC, as always, we will only give refunds to those who suffer illness or injury and can provide a doctor’s note.)

Be assured that the health and well-being of our community will be our top priority.  As of now, according to the rules and regulations outlined by the BC Provincial Health Officer, we will be doing the following:

  • Limiting venue capacity to 50%
  • Cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting throughout the day, focusing on areas and surfaces with frequent contact.
  • Requiring masks to be worn at all times, as it is an indoor event. (Exemptions: when competing on the dance floor, eating or drinking & children under 9.)
  • Checking vaccination cards at the door.

As the situation evolves, so will our approach to keeping everyone safe.  We thank you for your patience and flexibility as we manage this and ask that you check back for updates.  We look forward to bringing the dance community together once again, and start forging a brighter future for everyone.
